MEPhI Satellite Svyatobor-1 Was Delivered into Orbit
28.06.2023

On June 28, at 14:34:49 Moscow time, the first MEPhI satellite, Svyatobor-1, was launched into space from the Vostochny cosmodrome on a Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket.

Designed to track forest fires and other natural disasters, the spacecraft successfully separated from the Fregat upper stage and went into free flight in a sun-synchronous orbit with an altitude of about 560 km. Radio contact has already been established with it.

In the coming month, phased testing of all nanosatellite systems will take place, after which it will begin work on tracking forest fires.
