MEPhI and the Government of Moscow Will Train Personnel for the Moscow Industry Together
19.06.2023

Within the framework of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, Rector of the MEPhI Vladimir Shevchenko and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of training personnel for the city's industrial enterprises. Expanding cooperation between the Moscow Government and leading specialized universities will reduce the shortage of qualified personnel in the Moscow industry.

The parties, in particular, plan to jointly develop the Moscow Technical School (MTS) city project, which was launched in 2021. We are talking about creating a network of centers of technological and industrial competencies based on universities and scientific organizations equipped with modern engineering and technological infrastructure. They are necessary for advanced training and retraining of personnel to meet the demands of Moscow's industry. Expert and informational support for the project is provided by VEB.RF Corporation, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and other partners.

Today MTS provides training in six areas: "Communication Technologies", "Additive Technologies", "Artificial Intelligence in Industry", "Industrial Design", "Microelectronics and Photonics", and "Robotics and Sensors". More than 60 educational programs are being implemented. There are plans for 2023 to open three more areas: "Digital twins", "New production technologies", "Unmanned vehicles".
