On June 1, the Times Higher Education (THE) British ranking agency published the results of the fifth annual THE Impact Rankings 2023. MEPhI significantly improved its position in the overall THE Impact Rankings 2023, taking the 301-400 place in the world (for comparison, in 2022 it was 401-600).
The ranking examines the impact of universities on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals set out in the resolution of the UN General Assembly of September 25, 2015 "Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development" (17 Goals in total). This year, the ranking includes 1591 universities from 112 countries/regions. Universities were evaluated in 4 areas of activity: educational, research, management, promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals.
In 2023, MEPhI entered all ratings of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, significantly strengthening its position in this ranking. MEPhI entered the group of 101-200 best universities in the world in terms of the Goals: Responsible consumption and production (1st place among Russian universities); Industry, innovation and infrastructure; No poverty; Reduced inequalities, ranked 201-300 on Partnership for the goals; Sustainable cities and communities; Life below water; Life on land.
