On May 16, 2023, subject rankings of the best universities in Russia, prepared by the RAEX rating agency, were released. For the second year in a row, MEPhI took 1st place in Russia in nuclear energy and technology, and for the first time took 2nd place among Russian universities in electronics, radio engineering and communication systems.

In addition, our university was ranked among the best in 6 subject rankings:

• Physics - 4th place;
• Materials Technology - 4th place;
• Mathematics - 6th place (for the first time);
• Information technology - 9th place;
• Political Science and International Relations - 10th place (for the first time);
• Economy - 12th place.

Ranking methodology: Subject rankings take into account the assessments of the three missions of the university - educational, scientific, public. At the same time, the analysis of statistical data of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, providers of bibliometric data Clarivate Analytics and Scopus, organizers of student competitions "I am a professional", the monitoring and analysis system for media and social media "SCAN-Interfax", online course aggregators, Informer Technologies data on site attendance , as well as data from social networks YouTube, Telegram, VKontakte.
