10.05.2023

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation summed up the results of the competition of Student Scientific Societies (SSS). The winners were 40 universities from 28 regions of the country. Since last year, in the first group of participants applying for the largest grant, only the SSS of the MEPhI remained.

There were three groups of participants in the competition: those applying for 5,000,000 rubles, 3,000,000 rubles and 1,000,000 rubles of support. It was necessary to determine the group of participation before applying. SSS of the MEPhI, as in the previous year, went to the "major league" and will receive a grant of 5,000,000 rubles.

In total, the Russian Ministry of Education and Science will allocate 100 million rubles to support Student Scientific Societies. The money can be spent during 2023 on organizing and holding events, academic mobility, additional education for members of the association, and popularization of science.

“Support for student societies is part of the great work of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science to attract young people to science as part of the Decade of Science and Technology in the Russian Federation. This is the second time we are holding such a competition for Student Scientific Societies. It is important that the competition develops and attracts more and more talents,” said Olga Petrova, Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.

In total, 273 applications from 76 regions were submitted for participation in the competition.
