Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Noted the High Level of the Tashkent Branch of MEPhI

On March 16, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Konstantin Mogilevsky visited the Tashkent branch of our university.

 

 

Together with MEPhI Vice-Rector for International Affairs Dmitry Savkin and Branch Director Shavkat Abdukamilov, the Deputy Minister visited students' classes in classrooms, inspected the laboratories of relay protection, nuclear technologies, a chemical laboratory and a VR laboratory that simulates processes that are also studied at the Moscow site of the university.

Today, the branch has 307 students in four courses taught by about 40 local teachers and about 25 specialists from Russia. This year the first graduation of students of the branch will take place. But some of the students are already doing practice at the research reactor, which is located at the Institute of Nuclear Physics, next to the Tashkent branch of MEPhI.

At a meeting with the heads of branches of Russian universities in the Republic of Uzbekistan, Konstantin Mogilevsky noted the high level of both students and the equipment of the MEPhI site.
