Spectators in Bolivia Will Learn about Engineering Education at MEPhI

The visit of a delegation of media representatives from the Plurinational State of Bolivia to MEPhI took place on November 25. The journalists of the Bolivian newspaper "Ahora el Pueblo" and the TV channel "ATP" were interested in the life of the students.

Journalists Monica Pacheco, Erick Llanos and Williams Ramirez found out how their compatriots live and study at MEPhI.

Bolivian students were photographed during the educational process in the laboratory, in the reading room of the library, in classes in Russian as a foreign language, at the exhibition of scientific achievements of the university, where they got acquainted with the developments of the MEPhI departments.

Then, a press conference for representatives of the Bolivian media was held in the joint work room of the scientific library. MEPhI Vice-Rector Dmitry Savkin and other university leaders answered journalists' questions. The Bolivians learned about the history of our university, about the statistics of studying students from Bolivia at MEPhI, about the ways and channels for their admission to our university, about the current areas of nuclear education and the history of cooperation between MEPhI and Bolivia.

The journalists were also interested in the organization of the educational process at the university as a whole, the international rating of MEPhI, the role of women in the nuclear industry, the implementation of scholarships from the State Corporation Rosatom at the university, ways to attract young specialists and professional personnel to the field of nuclear technology.
