From September 5 to 9, a scientific conference on the problems of nuclear reactor physics was held in the Moscow region on the basis of the Volga camp, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of MEPhI. The event is traditionally organized every two years by the Department No. 5 "Theoretical and Experimental Physics of Nuclear Reactors" of the MEPhI with the support of the Russian Nuclear Society.

Representatives of scientific organizations and universities from different countries made presentations related to the computational support of existing and planned nuclear reactors, test problems, codes, databases and complex calculations of nuclear reactors.

The plenary session was chaired by Georgy Tikhomirov, Deputy Director of the Institute for Nuclear Physics and Engineering of the MEPhI. Also on the first day of the conference, the Youth Scientific and Historical Round Table of the Nuclear Society (together with the Museum of World Atomic Energy) “The history and role of MEPhI in personnel training, the present and future of scientific research in nuclear reactor physics” was held.

The conference attracted a large number of young scientists and specialists. About half of the reports were presented in the youth section, in which the three best reports received prizes from the Nuclear Society and the Museum of World Atomic Energy.
