Vladimir Shevchenko's speech at the teleconference

The most important part of the holiday was a teleconference connecting most of the university's branches. Vladimir Shevchenko, who opened the speeches, noted the long way covered by the branches over the years: only from the walls of the Sarov Institute of Physics and Technology came out more than 10 thousand graduates, who formed the core of the guardians of the nuclear shield of Russia.

At the same time, the rector of MEPhI stressed that the university should look to the future, it is entrusted with ensuring strategic national security, and the strategy today is not only a nuclear shield, but also new challenges in the field of digital, quantum laser technologies, big data management systems etc. Vladimir Shevchenko also expressed hope to see his colleagues from the branches at the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the "parent" university in the Grand Kremlin Palace on November 23.

After the teleconference in Sarov, a meeting of the MEPhI delegation with the leaders of the Mordovian State University named after N.P. Ogarev was held, and there was a discussion of the participation of MEPhI and Sarov Institute of Physics and Technology in the scientific program of the National Center for Physics and Mathematics.

The celebration ended with a solemn meeting in the building of the Sarov Drama Theater, which ended with the student amateur performance and, of course, the performance the MEPhI Academic Male Choir.
