June 29, ShanghaiRanking Consultancy has published Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2020.

Rating evaluated the effectiveness of research activities of universities: the number and citation of publications presented in leading scientific journals, international cooperation, the having  of prestigious scientific awards and prizes. This year criteria for evaluating scientific publications were strengthened: compilers moved from accounting for the total number of articles indexed in Web of Science to accounting for publications in the journals of the first quartile (Q1).

National Research Nuclear University MEPhI ranked in two subject areas: 151-200th in Physics and 301-400th in Energy Science & Engineering. Moreover, the university improved its position in Energy Science & Engineering compared to last year (401-500th) and entered the top three best Russian universities in this field.

In total, the ranking includes 17 Russian universities in 29 subject areas.
