Congratulations on the Day of nuclear industry worker!

Celebrating our professional holiday, we summarize our work and estimate our achievements. This year we again have much to be proud of!

We have fulfilled the state defense order for hundred percent.

Electricity generation from nuclear power plants is planned to be at a record level – more than 200 billion kWh. It is about as much as was produced by nuclear power plants throughout the Soviet Union!

This year we are commissioning two new power units in the country – at Leningrad and Rostov nuclear power plants.

We are continueing construction of nuclear-powered icebreakers: an icebreaker "Arktika" is successfully being built, the second icebreaker of new series "Siberia" was launched on 22 September.

A new large-scale environmental project has entered a decisive phase: the Murmansk region has started export of spent naval nuclear fuel from the Andreev Bay. The first thousand fuel assemblies have already been delivered to the production association Mayak for reprocessing.

We are successfully implementing our overseas projects: the physical start-up of the 3rd unit of the Tianwan nuclear power plant in China is being completed, we have began works at the construction site of the Akkuyu  NPP in Turkey; we will have started construction in Bangladesh until the end of the year; a full package of documents on the 5th and 6th units of the Kudankulam NPP was signed in India. In total we are working on the creation of 34 units in 12 countries at different stages. It is many times more than the nearest competitors have!

We have new challenges ahead: the creation of a two-component nuclear power with closure of the nuclear fuel cycle; projects associated with the digitalization of the economy, development of nuclear medicine, wind power, new non-nuclear products. We are sure, we will successfully overcome these challenges, because the Russian nuclear industry workers are always devoted to their work, and strive to new heights!
