MEPhI and University of Alexandria sign memorandum on cooperation

On March, 19-22 delegation of “Rosatom” state corporation and Russian universities has conducted a visit to leading universities of the Arab Republic of Egypt with the aim of development of interuniversity cooperation.

The Russian delegation was headed by Valeriy Karezin, the Chief of educational programs and international cooperation at the Rosatom state corporation. Representatives of leading Russian technical universities, including MEPhI, took place in the events.

Russian delegation conducted meetings with administration and lecturers of Egyptian universities, got acquainted with main programs of training, scientific and laboratory basis, discussed directions for future cooperation. “The main purpose of the visit was discussion of possibilities for creation of a training system for students of Egyptian technical universities for future work at NPP “El Dabaa” on the basis of programs, developed together with Russian universities,” said Valeriy Karezin.

On March, 20 Russian delegation represented a series of presentations about Rosatom approaches to planning and development of human resources for countries-partners, possibilities and offers of Russian universities for cooperation at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Cairo. Moreover, MEPhI and University of Alexandria have signed a memorandum about cooperation as a part of the visit. According to it, universities will jointly develop research programs in nuclear technologies, use infrastructure facilities, exchange scientific and methodological information, develop programs on student exchange.

Currently 26 Egyptian students undergo training in MEPhI, all of them study in nuclear specialisations.
