Young MEPhI scientists are laureates of Moscow Government prize

33 projects and 65 authors – prizes have been given to young scientists in Moscow. The ceremony was held in the White hall of the Moscow Government building.

Young scientists of MEPhI became laureates of the Moscow Government in 2016:

  • in the nomination “Best industrial project”: employees of the Department “Electrophysical facilities” of the LAPLAS Institute M.A. Gusarova, V.S. Dubkov, A.V. Samoshin for the work “Development of methods and techniques for designing of particle accelerators and creation of accelerators for scientific and applied applications”;
  • in the category “Physics and astronomy”: staff of the Department “Experimental nuclear physics and space physics” of the INPhE MEPhI A.V. Karelin, S.A. Koldobskiy, A.G. Mayorov for the work “Study of flows of light nuclei, their isotopes, and antinuclei in cosmic rays in the PAMELA experiment”

The prize of the Moscow Government helps to increase the prestige of scientific activity among youth, said the Moscow Deputy mayor for economic policy and property and land relations Natalia Sergunina at the ceremony of winners awarding.

“Participation in the competition gives an opportunity not only to obtain monetary compensation, but also to win the respect of the professional community. Leading Russian high-tech companies closely studied our contestants and their projects,” said the Deputy mayor.

The prize of the Moscow Government is awarded for outstanding fundamental and applied scientific researches in the field of natural, technical and humanitarian sciences, as well as for the development and implementation of new technologies, techniques, devices, equipment, materials and substances, to enhance activities in the real sector of economy and social sphere of the city of Moscow.
