The Center for Radiophotonics and Microwave Technologies (Nanocenter) of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI became the winner of the competition of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for grants for major scientific projects. A grant in the form of a subsidy from the federal budget in the amount of 300 million rubles (100 million rubles annually until 2026) was awarded to a project for the development of multi-qubit spin quantum networks based on impurity centers in diamond.

The head of the project is Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, foreign member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Sergey Kilin.

The aim of the project is to create a platform for the use of spin centers in diamond and spin networks based on them for quantum memory, quantum computing and sensor devices.

The MEPhI project received the highest rating on a par with the projects of MIET, CEMI RAS, FSBI FNCPMI, MIREA, FITC YUNTS RAS, ISP RAS.
