Visa Information for International Students who are able to come to Russia for studies

Dear international students!

THE INFORMATION BELOW IS FOR THE ATTENTION OF 1ST AND 2ND – YEAR STUDENTS ENTRYING FOR TRAINING ON THE QUOTA OF ROSSOTRUDNICHESTVO

If you are a 1st or a 2nd – year student or a graduate of the preparatory division and a citizen of a country that has the visa regime with the Russian Federation (according to the quota of Rossotrudnichestvo) and you have not entered the territory of the Russian Federation yet, you need to check your personal account on the Rossotrudnichestvo website. In the near future, a visa instruction will appear there, according to which you can obtain a visa at the consular department of the Russian Embassy in your country. 

VISA INVITATION IS ISSUED BY THE MINISTRY OF SCIENCE AND HIGHER EDUCATION OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION.

10 days before crossing the border, you shall inform the date of arrival and send a copy of your passport to the following MEPhI officers:

to add you to the database. 

If you are a senior student, tuition-fee student, or you had a study visa and entered Russia (1-2 courses), you need to follow these steps:

  1. Determine the estimated date of arrival in Russia
  2. Check the validity of the passport (it must be valid 1.5 years after the date of arrival in Russia)
  3. Send a copy of the passport and the completed visa application form to the staff of the international service (to all three employees in one letter)
  4. Expect an invitation for entrance to Russia (in electronic form) from the MEPhI staff 
  5. Purchase a ticket only after you receive a visa 
  6. Inform the following MEPhI officers:

(to all three employees in one letter) the date of arrival and send a copy of the passport and visa to be entered into the database.
