NRNU MEPhI entered the TOP 5 of the best universities in Russia in the Premier League in the ranking of Universities Performance Monitoring 2023, scoring the maximum 30 points. In addition to NRNU MEPhI, the same leadership group with 30 points included MIPT, TPU, TSU, and Mining University.

The ranking was published in 2024 by the National Foundation for Support of Innovation in Education based on official monitoring data on the main areas of university activity, conducted annually by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. The ranking used university data for 2022. 1,197 universities were ranked (of which 510 were branches), which, depending on the results, were distributed into 5 leagues (Premier League and leagues from 1st to 4th).

A number of our regional institutes took leading positions in this ranking in the regions of their location (see table). At the same time, SarFTI NRNU MEPhI entered the Premier League (28 points).

For reference: the assessment of universities was carried out on the basis of 6 indicators, which take into account educational, research, international, financial and economic activities, salary levels and an additional indicator.
