MEPhI enters TOP-20 of THE Emerging Economies University Rankings-2018

The Times Higher Education British edition has presented the results of an authoritative ranking of universities THE Emerging Economies University Rankings, which explores the universities of BRICS and countries with rapidly developing economies. It is worth noting that in terms of demography, more than half of the world's population lives in these countries. THE Emerging Economies University Rankings-2018 includes 378 universities from 42 countries.

The rating methodology is based on 13 performance indicators, including the level of teaching and research, citation and international cooperation.

The National Research Nuclear University MEPhI has entered the TOP-20 of best universities of countries with rapidly developing economies, and took the 3rd place among Russian universities (2nd place among the participants of the Project 5-100).

The first place among Russian universities is taken by MSU (3 position in the overall rating), the second – MIPT (11 position). In total, the TOP-100 of THE Emerging Economies University Rankings includes 11 Russian universities.

THE's rankings editor Phil Baty, commenting on the results shown by Russian universities, noted that Russia had the potential to become a global player in the field of higher education. According to the expert, it is fundamentally important to invest in education, as well as to create conditions for graduates to remain working in their country.
