Twenty four Russian universities have been included in the rating of the British company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), which includes the best universities in the world in 48 areas of training. Universities were evaluated by four criteria: the opinion of the academic community, employers, citation and Hirsch index, which reflects the scientist's contribution to science.

For the fourth year in a row the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI is in the TOP-100 of the QS subject rating in the direction of "Physics & Astronomy".

As the University's rector Mikhail Strikhanov noted, the results of one of the most prestigious subject rankings – QS Physics & Astronomy, in which MEPhI is among the TOP-100 best universities in the world the fourth year in a row, is certainly important. Such constancy requires great efforts of the University staff. It should be pointed out that this year MEPhI was included in a number of other QS subject ratings, in particular, Engineering & Technology, Mathematics, and Computer Science & Information Systems (for the first time). The results are more modest, but the hard work of our recently established institutions in the most modern scientific and educational areas allows us to count on further improvement of the position of MEPhI in the global rankings. A significant role in it is played by the University's participation in the Project 5-100.
