Description

Nikolay Semenov was an academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences, the only Soviet Nobel prize winner in chemistry. He was one of the founders of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI. On his initiative the Department of explosion physics (now — the Department of chemical physics) was founded at the University in 1951.
