Description

We invite you to take part in the international seminar on radiological diagnostics of plasma, dedicated to the memory of A.Ya. Faenov. The seminar is being organized to celebrate the outstanding contribution of the inspiring colleague and brilliant scientist, Professor Anatoly Faenov, who passed away in 2017.

Professor Faenov was recognized throughout the world as an expert in experimental studies of matter in an extreme state. His research, reflected in more than 400 works, laid the foundation for widely used methods of plasma diagnostics, especially in the field of x-ray spectroscopy of multicharged ions.

The seminar will consist of 15 invited presentations by colleagues and staff of Professor Faenov, related to the following key topics, to which he devoted his life:

  • x-ray spectroscopy of multiply charged ions;
  • fast electron and ion fluxes from plasma;
  • the use of plasma radiation and particle sources;
  • high energy density physics;
  • high energy density physics experiments with x-ray lasers and heavy ion beams;
  • atomic physics and exotic state of matter in dense plasma;
  • nonlinear processes and electromagnetic fields in laser plasma;
  • strongly-associated plasma and dense hot matter;
  • laser-induced shock waves and the equation of state of matter.
