Description
The Olympiad is held at the University for the 45th time by the Department №19 "General chemistry".
The Olympiad is held annually in the first decade of December. Any first-year student of MEPhI is allowed to participate in the Olympiad. Within 3 hours the participant should solve 9 tasks in Chemistry, including the following topics:
- Atomic structure;
- Chemical bond (structural formulas);
- Quantitative calculations in chemistry (solutions; calculations of concentration, mass, amount of dissolved substance);
- Oxidation-reduction reactions;
- Energy of chemical processes;
- Chemical equilibrium (homogeneous equilibrium, heterogeneous equilibrium, hydrolysis);
- Complex compounds:
- Chemical kinetics.
The results of the Olympiad will be announced on December 8, they will be taken into account in the results of the semester and in the selection of a team for the next rounds.
